Cheerleading is open to all 7th and 8th grade students. All interested students must attend a two-day clinic prior to try-outs in February. At that time, parents are given an informational packet (which includes a form for the mandatory physical examination each player must receive).

The Cheerleading Squad practices during the month of May and will attend a three-day camp in June. They also practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the summer.

All students who participate in sports at Shafer Middle School must be passing his/her grade, have two or less In-School Suspensions and no Out-Of-School Suspensions.

The Cheerleading Squad cheers at all of the football and basketball games. A schedule will be posted on the website before the seasons begin
