Student Council

Student Council is a service organization whose membership is determined by elections held during the fall (sixth grade) and spring (seventh and eighth grade) of each year. Student Council has multiple goals. Among these goals are helping members become leaders, bettering the school, and assisting the community. Each year, Student Council holds dances and partners with National Junior Honor Society in a fundraiser to help the school buy many items it otherwise could not. Student Council also spearheads the Shafer Steppers, SMS's Multiple Sclerosis Society team.

Student Council meetings are held after school on the third Thursday of each month. Occasionally, a special meeting may need to be held before school.
