About Us

In January, 1999, we moved to our current location. On February 7, 1999, the building was dedicated the Joseph Ellington Shafer Middle School.

Gallatin Middle School served the community for several years. However, when the time came for a new building it was decided to dedicate it to an educator of the highest quality and devotion. Please take a moment to learn a little about the namesake of our school, Mr. Joe Shafer.
